About

The Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) is a vendor-neutral, globally-recognized credential that validates advanced knowledge of privacy program management, governance, and operations. Launched by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the CIPM is distinct from the CIPP (which emphasizes legal/regulatory knowledge) and CIPT (which emphasizes technology). The CIPM targets privacy program managers, data protection officers with operational focus, chief privacy officers, privacy operations managers, and compliance leaders responsible for building and maintaining privacy programs across organizations. The current exam blueprint reflects real-world privacy program lifecycle management: framework design, governance structures, risk assessment, operational procedures, incident response, and continuous improvement.

Approximately 30–40 hours of dedicated study is recommended for preparation.
