About

The Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) validated expertise in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise wireless networks (WLAN) using Aruba/HPE solutions, specifically the AOS8 operating system. The exam tested advanced configuration of Mobility Master controllers, access point deployment, RF planning, security protocols (PSK, 802.1X), ClearPass integration, roaming, VoWiFi, and troubleshooting. ACMP was a Professional-level cert requiring ACMA as a prerequisite (or equivalent vendor certs). The certification was phased out on May 1, 2023, and replaced by the broader Aruba Certified Professional-Campus Access (ACP-Campus Access, HPE7-A01), which covers wired, wireless, and security convergence.

Domain context — Networking/Wireless

Enterprise wireless networking (WLAN). Covers design, deployment, security, and management of WiFi infrastructure, mobility solutions, and RF fundamentals. Related ecosystems: Cisco Meraki, Mist, SD-WAN, Aruba/HPE.

Course-selection note: ACMP courses are now retired or archived by training vendors since the certification was phased out in May 2023. Existing self-paced online courses (e.g., Udemy) may still be available for study, but official HPE instructor-led training is no longer offered for ACMP. Global Knowledge, Fast Lane, and Ascendient Learning have removed their ACMP-specific course pages (confirmed 2026-08-11); for current Aruba/HPE training, check ACP-Campus Access offerings.

Book rule: The Steven Sowell guide is the canonical reference, covering both HPE6-A44 (earlier) and HPE6-A71 (current/final) exam versions. Since ACMP is now retired, new books are not being published; existing study guides remain accurate for the AOS8 architecture covered on the exam.

Typical job titles at Networking · Professional

Aruba Wireless Engineer · Network Engineer (Aruba focus) · Wireless Architect · Systems Engineer (Wireless) · Senior Network Administrator (WiFi) · Network Operations Engineer · WLAN Systems Designer

(Job titles drawn from historical postings requiring ACMP certification. Note: as ACMP is now retired, new positions increasingly list ACP-Campus Access or CCNA instead.)

Salary note: ACMP-specific salary data is sparse because the cert has been retired since 2023. Ranges above reflect typical pay for Aruba Wireless Engineers and related roles. Current ACMP holders retain the credential for 3 years, but employers increasingly accept ACP-Campus Access as the successor qualification. Salary differentials between ACMP and ACP are minimal; role title and experience drive compensation more than cert choice.
